Mall Road

The Mall Road lies in the heart of Mussoorie, stretching 2 km long. Gandhi Dwar lies on one end, whereas the other end is marked by the Mussoorie Library. The main part of the Mall Road is brimming with the best places to visit in Mussoorie – cafes, restaurants, bakeries and souvenir shops. It is a pedestrian-only zone, so you can head to the Mall Road for a relaxing stroll and some people-watching.

Kempty Falls

Kempty Falls is the most popular of Mussoorie tourist places and makes for a great picnic spot. It is on the way from Dehradun to Mussoorie, and lies 17 km/an hour away from Mussoorie town. The cascading water of Kempty Falls falls over a height of 1300 metres, and forms a pool at the bottom. Here you can enjoy a refreshing dip, have a cute picnic with your family and friends, and enjoy a quintessential cup of tea and piping hot plates of maggi.

Gun Hill Point

Gun Hill is the second highest point in the area, thus making it one of the best places to visit in Mussoorie. It is an easy 20-minute uphill hike from the Mall Road. More excitingly, you can also take the ropeway to the top from Jhula Ghar. From atop Gun Hill Point, you get panoramic views of the Mussoorie town, the Doon Valley and the snow-clad peaks of the Himalayan range. 

Company Garden

The name ‘Lal Tibba’ translates directly to ‘Red Hill’, which indicates the fiery hues the sky takes on during sunrise and sunset. Due to its height, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Himalayas from here. On a clear day, you can even spot the Bandarpunch, Kedarnath, and Badrinath peaks. Lal Tibba is certainly one of the best Mussoorie tourist places.

Jharipani Falls

One of the best places to visit in Mussoorie, away from the crowded tourist places is Jharipani Falls. It is located 7 km from the main town in Jharipani village. The waterfalls is tucked away, and you can enjoy the seclusion of the falls to yourself. The water falls down gently, and you are surrounded by lush greenery and blooming flowers all around. Most of the journey there can be accessed by car. The final 1.5 km stretch to Jharipani Falls is an easy trek.

Kellogg Memorial Church

Kellogg Memorial Church is located in Landour, a stone’s throw away from Mussoorie. It was constructed in 1903 and is said to be the oldest church in Mussoorie. It is a popular Mussoorie tourist place because of the serene and peaceful pine tree-lined road that surrounds the church. The church has also featured in Bollywood movies like Student of the Year 2. 

While in Landour, stop by Landour Bakehouse in Sisters Bazaar to try some of the tastiest cakes, pies, tarts and muffins. 

Benog Wildlife Sanctuary

Benog Wildlife Sanctuary is located slightly outside Mussoorie, at an 11 km distance. The sanctuary is populated with animals like the endangered mountain quail, deer, leopards and other exotic species of birds.
