5. Murud – Alibaug

4. Kovalam – Kerala

Kovalam is a small coastal town in the state of Kerala, 16 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Kovalam is an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent beaches. It has been a favourite haunt of tourists since the 1930s. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters, ideal for sea bathing. Kovalam is slowly developing into a popular scuba diving spot. The underwater activity at this spot stands out because of its deep dive experience in a submarine.  The waters here are soothingly calm, with shoals of Anchovy and Silver Moony, Bluefin Trevally, the Odd Moray Eel, Puffer fish, Groupers, Boxfish, Sergeants, Pipe fish etc.

3. Bangaram – Lakshadweep

The Bangaram Islands of Lakshadweep is a popular spot amongst international tourists and honeymooning couples on a romantic weekend getaway. Bangaram is a less than a 20 minutes speed boat ride from the nearest airport, Agatti.  The Island is surrounded by continuous coral reefs and is considered to be at par with the Maldives. 2. Port Blair – Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Blue truly is the warmest colour, and if you are looking for it in the waters of India then Port Blair is the place to be. The capital city of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands offers one of the most mesmerising sights while taking a plunge into the deep seas.  The marine life is plentiful, ranging from 50 different types of corals and a large variety of fish like the Scorpion fish, Octopus, Angler fish, Clown fish, Butterfly fish, Parrot fish.

1. Grand Island – Goa

Popularly known for its beaches, nightlight and sunsets, there are still undiscovered thrills that thrive in the waters of Goa.  The Grand Island, also known as the Ilha Grande is a great diving spot situated just off the coast of Goa. This secluded spot lies on the Arabian Sea, close to Vasco da Gama. The only way to reach the island is via a boat that takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the place of departure. The depth of the waters near the shore ranges between 7-20 meters making it a great spot for both beginners and advanced drivers.  Below this water surface you may come across Dolphins, Corals, Sea Turtles, Skates and the chance to swim through the ships Suzy and Davy Jones Locker, two sunken treasures.
