Things to do in Phuket

Phuket is one of the world’s favourite beach destinations. It is a top pick for those to love to let loose and have a good time. It is filled with tall trees and green palms and home to a number of white sand beaches. What you will find here are world-class restaurants, endless entertainment and nightlife options, beautiful beaches, tropical rainforests, delicious street food and awe-inspiring culture. Couple this with Lohono’s fully serviced villas for rent in Phuket and luxury villas to experience a blissful stay.

An evening with elephants

The best and most ethical way to see elephants up close in Phuket. No trick shows, no tourist rides – just elephants being elephants in a lovingly cared-for environment. Elephants can be seen working and performing all over Phuket, but unless you head deep into the jungle you won’t find any as happy as those who are lucky enough to call this place home. Beyond the gentle giants themselves, the real attraction here is the chance for you to get hands-on with feeding, cleaning and even swimming with these majestic creatures.

Explore Phang Nga Bay

The incredible scenery of Phang Nga has always been at the top of our list of places to visit. There are many ways to explore it. You can take a lazy sunset cruise on a Chinese junk or explore Phang Nga by canoe through caves and enclosed lagoons. If you can afford it, a full day on a customized private cruise around Phang Nga is the most relaxing and enjoyable experience. Similar to the famous Halong bay in Vietnam, these landscapes will leave you with unforgettable memories.

Night at the market

Phuket has a lot of night markets, but at any day of the week and the line between a night market and a night bazaar is rather thin. Some only open during the weekend and some during the weekdays, so there should always be one open for you! The most famous and most creative is the Sunday walking street market in the old Thalang road of Phuket town.

Drama and Simon cabaret

For over two decades the now very famous Simon cabaret show has wowed tourists to Phuket with the most beautiful of lady-boys performing night after night. For one hour you will be treated to spectacular cabaret by the various performers including a big fat transvestite who always wipes her sweaty boobs on an unsuspecting gentleman sitting in the front row. The amphitheatre is very comfortable with large comfy seats.

Party at Bangla Road

A notorious and raucous (but great fun) 400-meter strip of all kinds of night time entertainment that’s the beating heart of Phuket nightlife. If you want a big night out in Phuket, this is the place to come. Running from the beach to the center of Patong, take a walk-up Bangla Road after dark and you’ll pass everything from beer bars and live music spots (Red Hot, Rock City) to enormous nightclubs (Illuzion, Tiger Disco) and, of course, plenty of go-go bars (Soi Freedom, Soi Sea Dragon). You probably won’t have a civilised night out here, but come with the right attitude and you’ll definitely have a great time.
