Getting There

The quickest transport to get to Alibaug from Mumbai, is by boat from the Gateway of India in Mumbai’s south region to Madwa Jetty.  It is an hour’s ride by ferry and approximately 20 minutes in a speed boat. Additionally, from the jetty getting to Alibaug takes about 30-40 minutes by bus or auto rickshaw. The only downside of this transportation method is that they do not function during the monsoon season and post 6 pm everyday. In which case, travelling by road is also another option. It takes upto three and a half hours by car, and there’s also an option of taking a bus.

When to Go

The best time to visit Alibaug in order to enjoy the beaches and the weather is during the months from November to July. The months from August to October is the perfect time to get cosy in your own holiday home while watching the rainy days go by.

Beaches

First and foremost, Alibaug is famous for its beaches. Alibaug Beach, is the most common and frequently visited beach. It has a spectacular view of the Kolaba Fort, which is only 1 km away from the shore and can be visited by a boat ride from the beach or by taking a walk. Also, another beach that is a lot less crowded and hence preferred by some people is Varsoli Beach.
